About the Role
The People & Culture (HR) Coordinator is responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. This role manages key human resource functions such as recruitment, employee engagement, benefits administration, and compliance. The Coordinator will work closely with the People & Operations Leader to align people strategies with organizational goals and collaborate with the Office Administrator to ensure accurate and efficient payroll and benefits processes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep alignment with TechAlliance’s overall mission; strive to improve Southwestern Ontario and Canadian innovation to drive positive societal and economic outcomes;
have HR coordination experience;
and ideally have prior experience in the technology or innovation space.
Reporting to the People & Operations Leader your responsibilities include
Manage the organization's HRIS platform, ensuring accurate data entry, maintenance, and compliance with data protection laws.
Oversee full-cycle recruitment processes, from job postings to offer letters, while maintaining up-to-date job descriptions and role expectations.
Coordinate and facilitate employee lifecycle events, including onboarding, performance assessments, professional development, and off-boarding processes.
Develop and update HR policies to comply with Ontario labour laws, conduct internal audits, and provide staff training as required.
Drive employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, team-building events, and wellness activities to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment and troubleshooting issues, and collaborate with the Office Administrator to ensure timely and accurate processing of the bi-weekly payroll.
Support strategic HR functions such as succession planning, leadership development, and preparing monthly HR metrics and reports for the People & Operations Leader.
Provide comprehensive administrative support for all people and culture related functions, adapting to additional duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
2+ years of experience in an HR generalist or coordinator role.
Post-secondary education in Human Resources
CHRP designation (or working towards it) is required.
Demonstrated understanding of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Ontario Health and Safety Act, and Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and their application in the workplace.
Capacity to ensure compliance with Ontario labour regulations in human resource practices.
Experience with policy development, payroll, and benefits administration.
Proficiency in and technical literacy of HRIS and payroll systems; experience with HR4, HUMI, ADP, or Payworks an asset.
High integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information while operating with professional discretion.
Be creative and resourceful with challenges, leading with a solutions-focused approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
High level of comfort leveraging digital tools seeking efficiencies and automation.

Exceptional attention to detail with excellent planning and time management while working independently and with ambiguity.
Articulate with strong oral and written communication skills including active listening and demonstrating professionalism in both presentation and demeanor.
Valid driver's licence, access to a vehicle, and resides in Elgin, Huron, Lambton, Middlesex, or Oxford County.
