We are looking for a General Machinist who will be responsible for working closely with other Machinists, Shop Manager, Engineering, Product Development, Fabrication and Assembly personnel. You will work to produce high quality products efficiently and with a high focus on safety. We are looking to add someone to our team who is eager to learn, detail-orientated and a team player. It is crucial that our Machinists promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand and interpret engineers’ drawings
  • Select and use tooling required for specific jobs
  • Select and use proper measuring tools
  • Organize assigned tasks for efficiency
  • Create and use jigs and fixtures as required
  • Competently operate milling machine and lathe
  • Conduct preventative maintenance of milling machine and lathe
  • Maintain tooling and report damaged equipment
  • Complete tasks within agreed time constraints
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
  • Consistently collaborate with Shop Manager and Engineering departments to improve TMG products
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of High School or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in manual machinist environment
  • You have a get it done attitude and are skilled at removing barriers
  • You operate with a team spirit, not with ego; you want everyone, including yourself, to do their best work; you see your success as dependent on the success of the team
  • You have the ability to think beyond the needs of the customer to point out errors and potential issues
  • You are able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, quickly understand and absorb new information and respond appropriately
  • You are a straight shooter who gets to the point and can clearly communicate in both oral and written form

ASSET:

  • Licensed 429A Machinist
  • Previous experience in a custom shop environment an asset
