Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to partner with Hospice of Elgin in the search for a dedicated People and Culture Coordinator to support its mission-driven team. Reporting to the Executive Director, this hands-on and compassionate HR professional will play a key role in human resources, volunteer coordination, workplace culture, and risk management, helping to foster a positive and engaged workforce.
As a key contributor to the People and Culture function, the People and Culture Coordinator will focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and policy development, ensuring HR programs align with Hospice of Elgin’s values and goals. This individual will also actively recruit, train, and support volunteers, ensuring they feel welcomed, engaged, and well-integrated into the hospice community.
With a focus on building an inclusive and supportive workplace culture, this role will help drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, professional development, and overall wellness. They will also support compliance with employment regulations and workplace safety, ensuring a safe and positive environment for both employees and volunteers. By developing thoughtful HR programs and volunteer initiatives, the People and Culture Coordinator will play an essential role in upholding Hospice of Elgin’s commitment to supporting exceptional care at end-of-life.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- At least five years of experience in human resources, volunteer coordination, or people operations, ideally within the non-profit, healthcare, or community services sectors.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CHRP designation or active progress toward certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of employment legislation, including ESA, OLRA, Human Rights Code, AODA, and OH&S.
- Experience in recruitment and talent management, supporting efforts to attract and retain top talent.
- Understanding of volunteer program administration, including recruitment, training, and engagement strategies.
- Ability to develop HR policies, oversee compensation and benefits programs, and support leadership in key HR functions.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively.
