Summer Student - Facilitiy Services

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 28,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,900, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading and inspiring. 

The Grand Erie District School Board has a number of summer student employment opportunities available with Facility Services. These positions involve various maintenance-related duties, tree planting, grounds maintenance, and school yard greening projects. The successful candidates must report daily to the Facility Services Building located in Brantford and will perform work at all school board buildings or grounds within the City of Brantford as well as Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk Counties.

Qualifications:

  • possess a minimum valid G2 license
  • able to work effectively in a team situation
  • able to work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision
  • possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • strong work ethic and ability to follow direction
  • previous relevant work-related experience preferred
  • currently attend or are planning to attend (i.e. in September 2025) a post-secondary school   
  • must be available to work for the months of May to August 2025
 
Job Specifications
Hours of Work 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm daily
Rate of Pay $17.20 per hour plus 4% vacation pay.
Students under 18 years of age: 16.20 per hours plus 4% vacation pay
Effective Date May 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025
