Prime Management Group Inc. is excited to be partnering with Home Hardware, a Canadian leader in the home improvement industry, in the search for a highly motivated and experienced Materials Manager to join their dynamic team. We are looking for a strategic thinker passionate about optimizing supply chain processes, reducing costs, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials. If you are a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and relationship-building skills and a proven track record in materials and purchasing management, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing materials efficiently.
- Purchasing Management
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overages or shortages.
- Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers, negotiating contracts and fostering strong business relationships.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to meet production goals.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of materials management professionals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- ERP Utilization: Utilize ERP systems to manage inventory and procurement processes effectively.
- Cost Reduction Initiatives: Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service levels.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, preferably within a process manufacturing environment.
- A track record in strong negotiation and purchasing skills.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- ERP Proficiency: Proficiency in ERP software (Oracle).
