SUMMARY:
The Faculty of Arts and Social Science at Huron University College is seeking an organized and efficient individual with a commitment to service excellence and demonstrated success in an administrative assistant role to join our team as Program Assistant, Faculty of Arts and Social Science. This role provides wide-ranging administrative support to the academic department heads and program directors, instructors and students within the Faculty of Arts and Social Science. Specific supports include course management (including e-learning practices), policy adherence, examination administration, technical support and training and administrative support.
This is a full-time contract position to commence in July 2024 with an approximate end date of August 2025.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed Undergraduate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution, preferably in the Liberal Arts;
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in a fast-paced, administrative support role, preferably in a post-secondary or educational setting;
- Knowledge of the academic programs and disciplines taught within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Huron University;
- Experience/knowledge of PeopleSoft and the OWL course management system would be considered an asset;
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent time management skills and a demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to interact positively and calmly with faculty, students and the general public in stressful/critical situations;
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and use good judgement in all decisions;
- A high level of initiative to meet the needs of the position, and make recommendations for changes/service improvements with limited supervision.
