JOB OVERVIEW

A Pre Apprentice is responsible for assisting in all shop requirements. Our pre-apprenticeship program serves as a foundational step for individuals aspiring to enter various skilled trades and professions offered at Tri Mach. It is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to succeed in formal apprenticeship programs and ultimately establish a fulfilling career in their chosen field. . We are looking to add someone to our team who is eager to learn, detail-orientated and a team player. This position will play a vital role in the overall quality of the products designed and fabricated at Tri Mach. It is crucial that the Pre-Apprentice promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

§  Lifting up to 50 lbs

§  Deburring:

o    Learn and understand the importance of deburring in the manufacturing process.

o    Remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from metal or plastic components using deburring tools and techniques.

§  Weld Cleaning:

o    Clean welds to color and contaminants using appropriate cleaning tools and methods.

o    Learn to identify weld defects and assist in rectifying them under supervision.

§  Bead Blast:

o    Learn the principles and procedures of bead blasting for uniform surface finish.

o    Operate bead blasting equipment safely and effectively.

§  Bandsaw:

o    Gain knowledge of cutting with a bandsaw including setup, adjustment, and safety precautions

o    Gain experience measuring with a tape measure as well as angles.

o    Learn to maintain equipment per preventive maintenance schedule.

§  Laser Cutting/Brake Press:

o    Assist operator in setup, loading and unloading of machines.

o    Crane operation and safe working procedures with suspended loads

§  Machining/Router

o    Assist in machining operations such as milling, turning, and drilling.

o    Learn basics to read and interpret drawings for machining.

o    Learn setup for basic machining operations both CNC and manual.

§  Fabrication:

o    Assist in fabricating components and assemblies required.

o    Basic understanding and hands on experience cutting, and fitting components for welding.

o    Basic welding exposure techniques for non CWB required welds.

§  Assembly:

o    Assemble components and sub assemblies using hand tools and power tools.

o    Learn to interpret assembly drawings and 3D models.

§  Compliance to equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

§   Assist with various shop projects, including shop maintenance.

§   Working on multiple priorities per day and aligning with dept leads to keep continuous flow.

§   Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship

§   In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
